Quick update with a shot from this past week. Eric is a singer songwriter from Utah. He flew in for an all day shoot.

Interesting notes from the day:
• A 26′ U-Haul is overkill to lug a baby grand piano around town.
• It will rain just before the biggest setup of the day. Then stop so you can capture some cool clouds.
• Be nice to mean octogenarians. Their nephew will let you use the field anyways.

Here are some “outtakes” from a shoot for an upcoming billboard ad campaign for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. The actual shots used for the billboards will not feature the faces of the musicians so I took a few portraits of them to use as they will since they were nice enough to pose and play.

Middleton Plantation Wedding

I had an all day wedding this past Saturday, starting downtown near the dog park for groom photos, then to the Citadel, then back to the park, then to Middleton Plantation in Summerville. It was a very long, but rewarding day. The bride was beautiful and nothing went remotely wrong, in spite of Murphy’s law. I captured some of my favorite wedding photos so far as well.

Very impromptu shoot with Allie. My buddy Patrick called me up this afternoon and asked if I felt like shooting. “Of course”, I replied. The rain held off, luckily, and we got a few different locations in in just a short time. I’m convinced you could take photos in 5 different locations in Charleston a day for a year and not get bored with it. More photos after the break.

If you haven’t eaten at the DD, then you’re missing out. It’s like a healthy, hippie version of Moe’s. They also have events and theme nights just about every weekend. I came out to take a few photos of Kasey hooping and as usual, some hip-hop dancing broke out. This shot is one of my favs from the night.

It was a beautiful day for a wedding at the Citadel Chapel. Great photo opportunities with some of the cadets and amazing natural lighting in the church itself. The reception was held at the Rice Mill, right on the harbor. Really awesome location with low, white ceilings and nice contrasting natural wood and brick to offset the bride and groom. Check out more shots below.
